The redesign of the grand piano for the piano manufacturer, RUD. IBACH SOHN, to be exhibit in the BAUHAUS Weimar, gave me the challenge to reinvestigate the fluid shape of the grand piano’s top view as it provides/informs the overall (3d) new form. The body of the piano is generated as one harmonic continuity in all three dimensions; its seat completes it as a shape, not unlike a piece in a puzzle.
